We have crank-out windows, and never looked at air conditioners much, we never really needed one. After reading many reviews we decided to try this air conditioner for those few nights the heat and humidity made it hard to sleep. It is exactly as represented...cools well and was easy to install. Even if we don't use it alot, the price made it affordable.

We needed to replace our Whirlpool portable unit and this was a much better buy. A few dollars more, but no more draining the water. It's quiet enough and cools very well. I'm very pleased with it

It works well for a small room... Not having to empty condensation is nice too... I just wish it cooled faster and more powerfully... The box said it has 3 fan settings "AND" 3 cooling setting, which is a lie... You can set the temperature gauge to 61 degrees as the lowest temp possible and set the fan speed to low, medium or high.... That's it! No setting the cooling level to low, medium or high like the box implies... I'm going to need to buy another portable for the rest of the floor(900 sq ft. total), but I think I'll try a different brand...

The units arrrived earlier than advertized which was a blessing during the NYC summer heat. The units are not quiet as central air, of course, but what is? They are at least as quiet as window-bangers, a lot better looking and a much easier to remove if you do not need them. In sum, a very good investment.

Purchased portable A/C to replace window unit (eyesore). Easy to move romm to room and put away when not in use. We use it to assist our central A/C in the summer, when wife cooks (a lot) and as backup incase power goes out, we can hook it to portable generator. So far works great. Cools room quickly and is quiet. We have it in the room with TV and we do not have to turn volume up real loud. Does have the normal hum of any A/C. I will write back in a few months to update on performance and quality. We live in the south, so we run our A/C's in December.
almost year later. Still working great. use it constantly. we live in N.O. so we do not have long winters looking at possible purchasing a second one.

Very happy with this portable air conditioner so far, will know better when temp reaches 115+. I am using it in my woodworking shop. I would recommend it to others.

This air conditioner works very well for a small space, but it must be vented out the window. That isn't such a problem but the plastic parts do not fit properly in the window. There is an expander but it is a different height than the other piece so there are multiple gaps which allow heat in from outside. Defeats the purpose. Not sure if we will return it because of this.
Also, the vent hose attaches to this piece that sits in the window and the screws do not hold it properly. It keeps popping out.
Frustrating :( I knew it was too good to be true.
